New Angry Bird.. it's BETTER than old angry bird. it's {ANGRY BIRDS RIO}

Angry Birds Rio arrives in March
Rovio and 20th Century Fox are proud to announce unique partnership uniting Angry Birds with summer animated feature film Rio.

From the makers of the hit Ice Age series, Rio is a comedy-adventure about taking a walk on the wild side.  Blu is a domesticated Macaw who never learned to fly, living a comfortable life with his owner and best friend Linda in the small town of Moose Lake, Minnesota.  Blu and Linda think he’s the last of his kind, but when they learn about another Macaw who lives in Rio de Janeiro, they head to the faraway and exotic land to find Jewel, Blu’s female counterpart.
Not long after they arrive, Blu and Jewel are kidnapped by a group of bungling animal smugglers.  With the help of street smart Jewel, and a group of wise-cracking and smooth-talking city birds, Blu escapes.  Now, with his new friends by his side, Blu will have to find the courage to learn to fly, thwart the kidnappers who are hot on their trail, and return to Linda, the best friend a bird ever had.

In Angry Birds Rio, the original Angry Birds are kidnapped and taken to the magical city of Rio, where they eventually escape their captors and set out to to save their friends, Blu and Jewel – two rare macaws and the stars of the upcoming Fox motion picture, Rio.  Angry Birds Rio will pair the physics-based gameplay of the original game with unique twists based on the highly-anticipated film.
Angry Birds Rio will launch with 45 dedicated levels and will regularly add new levels via app updates. The game will be available for download on smart phones and tablets worldwide.

Tying into the forthcoming feature film, coming April 2011, Angry Birds Rio is the very latest version of the App chart-topping birdie-chuck’em-up.
We’ve had a good play a day before its official release in the UK. (We’ve linked to the app below, and, once it’s officially released over here tomorrow, it should work.)
This time, the gang have been kidnapped, and dragged away from their dear eggs, all the way to Rio.
So, unsurprisingly, they’re angry, and it isn't long until they burst out, and start fighting for bird freedom- which sends a better message than the previous game's theme of fowl on swine warfare.
The game menus blasts out a catchy Rio theme tune, and after a speedy intro, you’re straight into the game. (We didn’t come to Angry Birds for a stirring plot-line)
Compared to the most recent St. Patrick’s update, the backgrounds have had a bit of a scrub-up, but its unmistakably Angry Birds, even with all the recent business interest, plush toys .etc.
We’re currently chugging through the games first levels, three-star grabbing pros will probably get right into the game in under an hour, and breeze through the warehouse levels. (We we're so proud of our three-star-in -one-play miracle, that we made it a screenshot.)
You’re then trekking through the jungle, and the adventures continues. You'll also encounter monkeys (the new pigs?) and boss battles with that nefarious looking white parrot.)
We’re not so blessed with bird-throwing skills, but we’re slowing progressing through those initial stages at the moment. (Tiny Wings is also taking up our commute gaming time.)
There's also a new achievements section, with gold-plated trophies for those that fulfil certain criteria. Not sure exactly what those criteria are, but all in good time. We need to get out of the jungle first

x10 available update to android 2.3 soon... see for more detail ! attach with the official link !

I am happy to inform you that this has changed. We plan to bring an upgrade to Android Gingerbread for the XperiaTM X10 to generic trade kits end Q2 / early Q3 this year. We have heard your requests all along but until today have not been able to confirm this. The great work on our 2011 products XperiaTM PLAY, XperiaTM arc and XperiaTM neo actually has enabled us to start the work in a special project bringing Gingerbread to the XperiaTM X10.
I believe this is good news to many of you out there and I am sure you have many questions around this. I’ve tried to list answers to the ones that came to my mind below. More details will come closer to launch but let me know in the comments section if I missed any questions. I’ll do my very best to find out and follow-up!

Why are you doing this upgrade?
We have listened to our consumers. In addition, the development of the software for our new 2011 range of Xperia phones gave us a solution that made it possible to deliver Gingerbread on XperiaTM X10.

When will the upgrade be available for me?
The roll-out is planned to start end Q2/early Q3 this year. Today, XperiaTM X10 is available in the market both in generic trade version and in versions customized for operators. Due to the resources available in this special project, we will focus on delivering trade versions of the software.  Regarding possible customized operators kit we will have to get back with more information on this at a later stage. But we want to be very clear already at this stage on the fact that some of you may not get this upgrade.

What are the components of this upgrade and what are the major differences from the 2.1 version of XperiaTM X10?
In short, we plan to bring similar software and functionality to XperiaTM X10 as we have in our new 2011 Xperia smartphones. Our ambition is to provide the majority of functionality of the Gingerbread platform, as well as the Sony Ericsson specific User Experience and features. The final scope of the software is still a work in progress. We will get back with more details closer to launch in end Q2 / early Q3 this year.

Will any functionality from the previous software version disappear by doing this upgrade?
Yes – the work is still ongoing so details will be communicated closer to launch but these are the current expected limitations:
  • The current plan is that the XperiaTM X10 will get the Android standard Camera user interface and therefore features like e.g. face recognition, smile shutter etc will be lost.
  • Moxier is replaced by the gingerbread native EAS functionality.
  • Mediascape is being replaced by the media experience widgets and music player included in our new 2011 products.
  • DRM keys for protected content on your phone will be lost in the upgrade process.
  • The Sony Ericsson Backup and Restore client is not supported in the Gingerbread version and will therefore be lost.
  • Support for bi-directional languages will be reduced compared to the latest version of the 2.1 version of the XperiaTM X10.
What are the major differences between 2.3 on XperiaTM X10 and 2.3 on your 2011 range, for example Xperia arc?
In short, the intention is that the Xperia X10 will receive similar software and functionality that we have in our new 2011 Xperia smartphones. The current ambition is to provide the majority of functionality of the Gingerbread platform, as well as the Sony Ericsson specific UI and features that are not  restricted by hardware limitations (for example no HDMI out). The final scope of the software is still work in progress but we are working to minimize the differences. We will get back with more details closer to launch.

How do I get this upgrade?
The upgrade will only be available through our PC-based upgrade clients. I.e. it cannot be done over the air.

Can I go back to the 2.1 version if I am not happy with the upgrade?
No – our upgrade solutions do not support downgrading.

Will I lose any content or settings by doing the upgrade?
Yes – All your personal content and settings stored in the phone will be lost in the process. You will have to make sure that you have stored your information somewhere else. Note that the Sony Ericsson Backup and Restore client will not be included in the Gingerbread version, therefore we recommend using a 3rd party backup application if you don’t have your data stored in other places than your phone. Content stored on your memory card is not affected by the upgrade, except DRM protected content since keys will be lost.

Why have you stated before that the 2.1 version would be the final upgrade to the XperiaTM X10?
We didn’t plan to upgrade XperiaTM X10 beyond Android version 2.1 and our communication reflected this. However, that plan changed but we didn’t want to communicate this until we were sure that we would be able to deliver a good user experience with Gingerbread on XperiaTM X10.

Why didn’t you inform about this upgrade until now?
As a company we strive to be as open as possible in channels such as this product blog. We have been focusing on delivering our 2011 Xperia products on the latest Android platform for smartphones. In parallel we have investigated what of those efforts could be re-used for an upgrade of the Xperia X10. Our ambition all along has been to inform about this as soon as we concluded that we could deliver a good user experience with Gingerbread on XperiaTM X10, which we now feel confident we can do.

Why did you bypass the 2.2 upgrade?
Our focus has been on Gingerbread. The work we have been doing on Gingerbread for our products launching in 2011 has given us a solution that made it possible to deliver Gingerbread on XperiaTM X10.

Will you upgrade the XperiaTM X10 mini, mini pro and XperiaTM X8 to 2.3?
No, we have no such plans. We have had to prioritize our resources and have therefore focused on delivering the upgrade to XperiaTM X10.

Will you continue to upgrade XperiaTM X10 beyond Gingerbread 2.3?
No.

Is the upgrade based on Android version 2.3.2 or 2.3.3?
The XperiaTM X10 Gingerbread release will be released on Android 2.3.3

What about upgrades for your new phones like Xperia PLAY, arc, neo and pro. Will users be able to upgrade to newer versions of Android when they become available?
The XperiaTM PLAY, arc, neo and pro are launched on the latest version of Android for smartphones (Gingerbread 2.3) and we plan to upgrade these to the next version of Android (beyond 2.3) available to us, subject to the Google/Android roadmap. And even if it is too early to give detailed comments around later Android upgrades for future products, the changes we have made to our way of working with Android puts us in a good position to provide Android upgrades in a timely manner.

COMPARISON: HTC Incredible S vs HTC Desire HD.. 2 best HTC android phone

HTC desire HD
HTC incredible S

HTC Incredible S vs HTC Desire HDWe take a look at two of HTC’s best Android phones to see which of these feature-packed handsets carries the most clout.

Form:
HTC Desire S - 115 x 59.8 x 11.6 mm, 130g
HTC Incredible S - 120 x 64 x 11.7 mm, 135.5g
The HTC Desire S is the smaller and lighter of the two handsets but they are about the same thickness and visually they look very similar.
Not a visual feature, but part of the phone’s form nonetheless, the Desire’s slide-out Qwerty keyboard is a plus in our book.
One of the Incredible’s standout visual features is the understated capacitive buttons at the bottom of the display which also rotate with the screen.
Form isn’t a huge talking point for discerning between these two handsets but then both being HTC they were bound to have a similar design ethos – they both have their distinguishing features but neither particularly exceeds the other and the overall feel is much the same.
Winner – Draw

Display:
The Incredible S has the larger screen at 4-inches to the Desire’s 3.7-inches, though the screens of both handsets run at the same resolution of 480 x 800.
They’re both also Sony produced S-LCD capacitive touchscreens featuring multi-touch and running the HTC Sense 3.0 user interface.
The S-LCD screens should make both these phones a little better than usual in terms of power consumption from the touchscreen.
Aside from minor measurement differences these phones both have very good screens, however, it should be noted that the HTC Sense user interface present on both devices can be a little bit demanding of processing power.
Winner – Draw

Storage:
Another round of similarity for this one, well, in truth they’re identical – both handsets have 1.1 GB of ROM internal memory and 768 MB of RAM, while supporting Micro SD cards up to 32 GB.
These handsets have a reasonable amount of storage space which should be fine for most users, but they are somewhat dwarfed by other phones coming to the market and if you like storing a lot of media files or apps on your phone you could be left wanting.
Winner – Draw

Processor:
I see a pattern emerging here, yet again we have an identical setup with the processors, both phones use a 1 GHz Scorpion processor based on the powerful Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon chipset, both phones also feature an Adreno 205 graphics processing unit.
The Snapdragon based processor was a good choice by HTC for both these handsets as it gives them enough power to handle plenty of apps and media, as well as the multi-tasking Android is famed for.
Winner - Draw

Cameras:
Cameras are where these two handsets really start to seem different, the Desire has a decent enough 5-megapixel primary camera which captures at 2592 x 1944 and 720p, featuring autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus and image stabilisation.
The Desire also has a VGA secondary camera. The Incredible, meanwhile, has a better primary camera at 8-megapixels capturing at 3264x2448 and 720p.
It also features autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus and image stabilisation but is slightly different from the Desire with a dual LED flash and a beefier secondary camera at 1.3-megapixels.
For this round there is a clear winner, the Incredible has a much better camera setup with a higher megapixel count on both primary and secondary cameras and a higher resolution, the dual LED flash is also a nice touch.
Winner – HTC Incredible S

Operating System:
HTC seem to love Android so it’s no surprise these are Android based phones, the Desire runs the latest version 2.3 Gingerbread while the Incredible is currently on the older 2.2 Froyo, though an update to Gingerbread is on the way.
Both phones will therefore have the latest tweaks and changes to the Android system with better browsing, keyboard and multi-tasking functions.
Although the Incredible doesn’t currently have Gingerbread it should do soon enough and when it does there will be no discernable difference between these handsets in terms of either the operating system or the hardware which runs it.
Winner - Draw

Apps:
These phones are, once again, on an equal footing when it comes to apps, they both run Android and will, eventually, be on the same version.
They both have the same storage capacity, which, while not huge, will hold a reasonable amount of apps and games. Lastly, they both have the same processing and graphical power at their disposal.
Both these phones will run many of the apps from Android Marketplace well enough, while not up there with the current crop of dual-core handsets the Snapdragon based processors allow pretty good performance.
Winner - Draw

Final Thoughts:
Well this hasn’t been a no-contest but it hasn’t been much of a contest either, these are both great phones – there are so many similarities it’s almost impossible to pick between them.
They’re both going to be equally competent at all the typical things you might expect a modern smartphone to do, with their powerful processors and up-to-date Android operating system.
It eventually comes down to personal taste on particular features you might prefer to have, such as the Desire’s slide out keyboard, which is great if you prefer the feedback of physical keys over Android’s touchscreen version.
Likewise the Incredible’s powerful 8-megapixel camera makes it a better choice if snapping pictures on the go is more your thing.
